In this work, I deal with our own definition. Making an analogy between us and newspaper headlines, I am exploring how the context or the lack thereof influences us.
Headlines were cut out and transferred onto ceramic vessels. These vessels, containers by definition, are exhibited on a notably oversize table to recreate children’s perception of this piece of furniture.
What happens to words when they are out of the context that justifies them, when they are out of their containers? What happens to us, being mud and words, in the same situation?
Each vessel is different. I use what is similar in opposition to what is identical as a strategy to suggest our fear to lose our identity.
